A small, very friendly Reconstructionist synagogue. Services are in Hebrew with some English readings. Lunch 'n' learn afterward is an informal discussion over bagels and cream cheese of the week's Torah portion. Once a month there are pot luck suppers on Friday nights, preceding services.
This was my first time in this shul, and i felt right at home. I appreciate the reconstructionist approach having been a member of Bnai Keshet in NJ for 20 years. The people were warm and the Rabbi's sermon touched me deeply.
This synagogue and those who run it appear to be unresponsive to the needs of the Jewish community. After making three unsuccessful attempts in one week to get someone to tell me how to join the synagogue and attend High Holy Day services, (the phone message says "someone will return your call soon,") we wondered how the synagogue deals with deaths of congregants. Do they suggest keeping the body on ice until someone can get around to checking the voice mail? This is not the type of synagogue I would be willing to attend.
